Goals Galore As Kops Host Gunners

Liverpool will be hosting last season’s FA Cup champions Arsenal on Sunday in the new 2017/18 Premier League season.

Liverpool started on a low note as they were only able to manage a 3-3 draw with Watford in injury time. However they were able to redeem themselves on Saturday when they thrashed Crystal Palace 1-0. Arsenal on the other hand started their season with a massive comeback defeating Leicester 4-3 at Emirates stadium but were disappointed last weekend as Stoke striker Rodriguez Jesse scored the only goal on his debut beating Arsenal by that single goal to none.

In the last Premier League campaign, the Reds finished in fourth place and guaranteed themselves a place in the Champions League after beating Hoffenheim in the Champions League playoffs. The Gunners, however, finished fifth and only earned a Europa League slot as far as European competition is concerned.

Head to head

Gunners vs Liverpool 3-4

Liverpool vs  Gunners 3-3

Things will however not be exactly the same since both teams have managed to add fresh blood into their teams. Arsenal have gotten good finishing from Alexandre Lacazette and strength in Sead Kolasinac. Liverpool on the other hand have gotten skill and pace in Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah. They added a potentially solid wall in Andrew Robertson.

Injury updates

Liverpool will be without Phillippe Coutinho who will be sidelined and  that means Salah, Mane and Firmino  will start as forwards.

The Verdict

Wenger would have liked to secure the three points at home but the tactician and his squad must now travel to Anfield and try to beat the Reds in front of their passionate home supporters.

Expect both teams to score .
