Jose Mourinho has blasted Luke Shaw for his under-par performance in their 2-0 FA Cup win over Brighton.
Speaking at a press conference after the match, the Special One said, “Luke, in the first half, every time they came in his corridor, the cross came in and a dangerous situation was coming. I was not happy with his performance.”
Shaw has constantly been on the receiving end of Mourinho’s criticism. The left-back last collided with the tactician in April last year after the Portuguese accused him commitment to the club and not taking training seriously.
A source from within Old Trafford has disclosed that a large section of United players have taken issue with Mourinho’s treatment of Shaw, with some admittedly feeling that the former Chelsea boss is unfairly picking on the defender.
Red Devils legend Paul Scholes has also weighed in on the matter by stating, “For me I think he could be brilliant but his manager will still find something wrong with him. I think sometimes, managers get in their head that there’s a player not for them.”
It is because of this reason that many believe that Shaw’s days at Old Trafford are numbered, making an exit from the English giants this summer highly likely.
